2026 – Passionate About Keeping Our Children Safe!
Supporting Fire Safety Education for Childreng
Every child knows that playing with fire is dangerous. Yet curiosity, fascination and a lack of awareness of the risks still put many children in danger every year. That’s why the Oldenburg District Firefighters’ Association and K&L Verlag have joined forces to educate children through engaging, age-appropriate learning materials rather than simply telling them what not to do. Together, they have developed an exciting, interactive colouring and activity book that teaches primary school children essential fire safety skills – knowledge that could one day save lives.
And we’re proud to support this important initiative!
Our Contribution Helps Children in Our Region
Why is fire not only bright and warm, but also dangerous? What does a fire need to keep burning? And what should you do if a fire breaks out? These are just some of the important questions children explore through fire safety education provided by local fire services. Working closely with fire safety experts, the organisers have also developed an educational colouring and activity book called "Sicher mit Feuer & Flamme" (Fire Safety for Children). At home or in the classroom, children can strengthen their knowledge by colouring engaging illustrations and completing fun challenges about fire prevention and safety.
One of the highlights is the wide range of videos and interactive digital content. Using modern augmented reality technology and the free Kim & Luis app, children can enjoy a unique learning experience. By collecting reward stars for correct answers, they can even bring their own interactive fire engine to life – complete with flashing blue lights and a working siren.
Another potentially life-saving feature is the innovative Kinderfinder (Child Finder) stickers included with the book. Placed on children's bedroom doors, these stickers help emergency responders quickly identify rooms where young children may need assistance. This is especially important because frightened children sometimes hide in wardrobes or under beds during emergencies.
Educational classroom posters, including information about how smoke alarms can save lives, and additional fire safety videos further support the learning experience.
Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, these educational packages – including activity books, Child Finder stickers, access to the app and classroom posters – can be distributed free of charge to primary school children throughout the Oldenburg district. We’re delighted to contribute to this valuable project and help make it possible.

2025 – First Aid for Children: Learning to Help Through Play
We’re Proud to Be Involved!
What should you do if someone suffers a burn, gets bitten by a tick or is poisoned? And most importantly, how can you help someone in an emergency? To help children find answers to these important questions, Oldenburg District Administrator Christian Pundt and K&L Verlag have created an easy-to-understand colouring and activity book designed specifically for primary school children.
We believe this is a fantastic initiative!
And that’s why we’re supporting it
The book uses colourful illustrations and playful activities to teach children essential first aid skills. Through 32 pages of engaging stories, siblings Mario and Olivia, together with their dachshund Waldi, guide young readers through different everyday emergencies. The children learn how to respond to burns, heatstroke, tick bites, poisoning and shock, gaining practical, age-appropriate knowledge about what to do in an emergency and how to get help. Teachers, childcare professionals and parents can also use the illustrations to discuss emergency situations with children and practise appropriate responses together. Thanks to the support of numerous local businesses, these educational colouring and activity books can be distributed free of charge to primary school children throughout the Oldenburg district. We’re delighted to be part of this worthwhile initiative and to help children develop skills that could make a real difference.
